After the intensity and excitement of the final reviews and graduation, there comes the period of reflection and decision making about the next steps. This could follow a number of potential routes with choices of employment, internship, advanced study, research or professional accreditation.
To support those students seeking to enter practice at Undergraduate or Masters levels (RIBA part 1 and 2 respectively) A series of useful resources have been assembled, to provide advice and guidance during this period.
These resources include guidance and support on the following:
There are a number of recorded interviews with some key practitioners, across a spectrum of practice size, type and location, offering their views and wisdom to students seeking to secure that dream role. These resources will be updated with additional interviews and advice on "The Interview", so make sure to check-in.
If you require any additional advice or have any questions then feel free to email john.latto@xjtlu.edu.cn

Interviews have been uploaded with three practitioners and over time, additional interviews will be added periodically, to provide a rounded view of different voices from Practice. These illustrate that there is no single approach and that is is important to research particular Organisations you wish to consider for potential employment. Many Practices define their requirements for submissions of Resume and Portfolio and these must be adhered to, otherwise your submission will be automatically rejected at the initial stages. Many organisations carry out an initial screening of applications by Human Resources, prior to these being reviewed by Senior Executives.
