The Order Feedback (JUNE 2024) regarding the books ordered by the Library is updated. The arrival time of imported books might be affected due to delays in international parcel delivery. For any urgent need, please contact your subject librarians.

Reference Textbook Order Feedback
- The Library received 1,531 reference textbook requests for AY24/25-S1 through e-Bridge and e-mail. Please click here to review Book Status.
- 1,345 titles have arrived in the Library collection, one copy of which will be shelved in the Course Reserved Area (3F, the Library). Students can easily search the reference textbooks for their module in the "Curriculum" of OPAC.
- 17 titles exist in the Library's digital collection, the electronic copy is searchable and accessible on OPAC.
- 48 titles are not ordered due to incomplete or incorrect bibliographic information (title, author(s), ISBN, etc.). Please send the correct book information by submitting the Library Print Book Suggestion Form to your subject librarians.
- 65 titles are not ordered due to out of print/stock.

Library Notice for Opening Hours Adjustment during the Summer Holiday
In order to balance the energy saving of Library space facilities and users’ needs for learning and research during the summer holiday, the Library opening hours during this period will be adjusted as follows:
From 17th June, 2024 to 30th August, 2024
From 31st August, 2024, all library working hours, spaces and facilities usage will return to normal. (08:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday; 09:00 to 22:00 Saturday and Sunday).

Library Highlights
Advancing AI in Academic Support: Library Advisory Group Second Meeting in AY 23/24
On June 5th, the Library Advisory Group convened to discuss recent suggestions and developments in AI-enhanced learning and research support. Key topics included the importance of detailed school affiliations for researcher visibility, the progress of the university-wide Research Data Repository project, and the need for improved access and training for IBSS resources. The meeting also focused on AI applications, with representatives from the Science School and IBSS sharing current practices and future potential. The library's initiatives include integrating an AI assistant in the Discover search engine and developing a chatbot for online reference services. Moving forward, the Library is committed to continuing collaboration with various schools to further explore AI-driven solutions to enhance academic research and learning experiences.
XJTLU Library and Soochow University Library Conduct Professional Exchange on Sci-Tech Novelty Retrieval Services
On June 20th, the libraries of XJTLU and Soochow University engaged in a professional exchange focused on sci-tech novelty retrieval services. The event aimed to enhance cooperation and improve service levels in this domain. XJTLU librarians shared insights on their library's structure, services, and intellectual property information support, which were highly praised by their Soochow counterparts. Soochow University librarians then presented their experiences and the latest developments in sci-tech novelty retrieval services. Both parties actively discussed and shared typical cases, exploring opportunities and challenges for libraries in the AI era. This exchange fostered deeper mutual understanding and trust, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration to advance sci-tech novelty retrieval services and intellectual property information support.
Unlocking New Research Methods with Scopus AI
Scopus AI, a powerful AI-driven research tool, is available at XJTLU Library. This tool combines generative AI technology with the peer-reviewed Scopus database, providing researchers with concise and reliable summaries of research topics. Scopus AI offers features such as accurate extraction of traceable information, identification of key papers, expert recommendations, and broadening research themes. It supports natural, conversational queries and delivers detailed, visualized search results. Accessible via the Databases A-Z on the library homepage, the library welcomes feedback from the XJTLU community to further enhance this innovative tool.
