About IBSS@Data Mining Lab
IBSS@Data Mining Lab was established in November 2015 at International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) in order to support research-led initiatives in data technology driven management and accounting practices related for Research, Learning and Teaching.
IBSS@Data Mining Lab offers free access to professional data analytics software and related learning resources (ACL Analytics, Qlik, Tableau...). The Lab is situated in room BS 429 on the 4th Floor of IBSS building. Data Mining Lab@IBSS is led jointly by International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) and CSSE (Computer Science and Engineering Department) departments of XJTLU.

Opportunities to use the Data Mining Lab Resources for UG and PG students at IBSS
Apart from attending modules using Qlik and other data analytics softwares available at IBSS, students can take several opportunities to use data analytics softwares and develop their skills, including:
* SURF projects (Summer Undergraduate Research Fund)
* FYP Final Year Project in the final year of their undergraduate studies
* Other research projects in coordination or supervision with the IBSS Faculty

Modules using Qlik Academic Programme at IBSS
- IBSS Summer School Bootcamp: in the MPP business case simulation, ‘New Mengxiang’ Project Teams should create (‘showcase’) a computerized version of their performance dashboard using a data analytics software solution (Qlik); through a Data Analytics Software Live Demo, participants are required to demonstrate the benefits of data analytics technologies for the implementation of their strategic plan for the company MPP. The live demo simulation of Qlik dashboard needs to cover the following objectives 1. explain how the data analytics software helps to create new performance indicators using new forms of data 2. explain visualization (how management of MPP will use the Qlik dashboard) 3. explain how the data displayed is sourced and processed in the software
- ACC901 Additional Learning Activity module 'Data Analytics & Business Strategy': this course aims to prepare students to consultancy jobs by giving them the opportunity to participate in a business case simulation where participants work in teams to develop a business case for a particular company based on a virtual scenario
