ABOUT

While Post-Cold War interventions have suffered multiple crises of effectiveness, legitimacy, and credibility, critiques of interventionism have similarly become ineffective reiterating tropes of liberal universalism and eurocentrism. Through transdisciplinary lines of enquiry, this project looks critically at the practices, forms, and ideologies of contemporary international interventions. We mobilize an interdisciplinary approach which highlights the scales, spaces, and temporalities of contemporary interventions to expand a critical understanding of ongoing interventionism.

With this project, we hope to bring into dialogue scholars with different theoretical perspectives and disciplinary approaches, who are particularly interested in rethinking hegemonic categories, practices, and theories of existing scholarship on contemporary interventions. To this aim, we are planning our participation in a series of conferences and workshops. If interested in knowing more about the project, please send an email to debora.malito@xjtlu.edu.cn
