Librarians Dig Deeper into the Library's Research Repository to Produce an Academic Output Analysis Report for School of Science
The academic output analysis report is a practical report dedicated to the statistics and analysis of scientific research results. It is an objective, comprehensive, and factual description of the research process and scientific results by the researcher at the end of the research of results.
Through the assistance of faculty members of the School of Science, the library completed a research publication analysis report for the School of Science for the period 2018-2022 based on the data from the XJTLU Research Repository and Web of Science. The librarians applied their expertise in bibliometrics to the number of institutional achievements, highly cited articles, authors, research fields, partnerships, journals, and other indicators to illustrate the publication of academic articles in the School of Science from 2018-2022.

Trial Run of XJTLU Library (Taicang) Group Study Room Booking System
XJTLU Library at Taicang campus carries out a trial run of the group study room booking system from 26 June 2023 to 1 September 2023. The 18 group study rooms in the library have been the most popular learning spaces since its opening. However, they have also caused a seat occupation problem, which is managed through the distribution of parking tickets for a long time. The system has now entered the trial operation stage. Through reservation, it can avoid seat occupancy and reduce manual intervention to improve user experience and enhance management efficiency. Users can make a reservation via the room booking website or the Library's WeChat official account so that each of them has the right to utilize the library’s spaces and facilities.
Library Goes Live with New Off-Campus Access to Electronic Resources -- Elink
In June, through the support of MITS, the library successfully launched a new off-campus access system. The system introduces a new proxy access method and integrates the original EZProxy and CARSI methods, aiming to improve the convenience and stability of accessing electronic resources and optimize the user experience.
As before, users only need to log in once with their XJTLU Account to access most of the library's electronic resources normally, without feeling any significant difference. At the same time, ELINK has added rich e-resource usage management and statistical functions for the library, which can better evaluate e-resource usage.
XJTLU Library welcomes more users to access electronic resources through the library website and database list when they are off-campus and hope that this will improve the efficiency of learning, teaching, and research.
