Director's Introduction
Welcome to the first e-newsletter of XJTLU's Academic Enhancement Centre (AEC)!
This first edition provides an overview of the different areas that AEC is involved with, and the work we develop and support across the XJTLU community: Technology-enhanced learning (TEL), the Certificate in Professional Studies in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (CPS), and the Postgraduate Research Development Programme (PGR). It also reports on related events that support the enhancement of learning and teaching at XJTLU.
This e-edition was developed using the open source e-portfolio application we have in place here at XJTLU; Mahara. This system interoperates nicely with our ICE learning management system.
In future editions, we will also be letting you know about Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities, the Learning and Teaching Annual Colloquium that will take place next April, SURF, and any other learning and teaching related events.
As always we value your feedback so, please do provide us with some about this newsletter and also, if you have any ideas or content for future editions we would love to hear from you.
On behalf of the AEC, I hope you enjoy reading about what we're up to and how we can support you, and may I take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful Christmas!
James
