The Metabolic Key Lab is strategically aligned with the research plans of SCI and XJTLU, focusing on industry-university-research collaboration and cross-faculty partnerships. The lab aims to enhance its research impact and technology transfer by deepening engagements with biopharmaceutical companies. Through a focus on research productivity, talent development, and international collaborations, the lab aims to maintain its position as a world-class research entity in metabolic syndrome and drug research.

• Foster a collaborative research environment by integrating doctoral students into ongoing projects.

• Strive for high-quality research publications to strengthen the lab's academic reputation.

• Organize monthly research seminars and bi-annual meetings to facilitate knowledge exchange and align research directions.

• Seek tighter industrial collaborations and research funding through XJTLU-JITRI Academy of Industrial Technology.

• Use the Metabolic Key Lab webpage and Official WeChat account to attract potential industrial collaborators and funding support.

Key Targets for the Next Three Years

• Construct the SIP key research platform for metabolic syndrome and secure over 2 million funds from local government or industrial companies.

• Achieve 10 industry collaboration projects, 15 high-impact research publications (Q1), and develop 3 critical IP projects related to metabolic diseases and drug development.

• Establish 5 international collaborations and help enroll 3 competitive PIs in metabolic disease & drug development.

• Co-found the Suzhou Institute of Precision Medicine with Suzhou Precision Medicine Inc. as a step towards developing and commercializing technologies for precision diagnosis and treatment of cancers.
