About cases in essay

I want to ask, must the cases in our essay be related to environmental science, such as climate and air quality. If it's biological, such as drug experiments, will we lose points.

Not suggested. It depends on how far it is from Environmental Sciences.
This requirement is clarified explicitly in the task sheet.
