Print Book Acquisition
The 1st round of departmental book acquisition for AY2018-2019 has started. 30% book titles shall be collected by Oct 31, 2018.
For book purchasing schedule, please refer to Library Print Book Acquisition Schedule for AY2018-19.
The latest Library Pre-approval Plans for each department are provided as below, from where you could select desired titles.
The Order Feedback (September 2018) regarding the books ordered by the Library is attached as well.

Wanted Book List
Based on the book recommendations from academic departments, the Library produces a ‘wanted book list’ for items which failed to be purchased. Faculty could find your own ways to purchase the listed books for teaching and research needs. It shall follow the procedure in XJTLU Library Faculty Purchase Reimbursement Policy when purchasing a book from the wanted book list.

China Data Online Ended Service in China
Upon receiving the notice from vendor, the Library hereby informs you that, effective immediately, China Data Online and related service hosted by University of Michigan China Data Center in US will be no longer available. For patrons who need China statistical data for research, the following databases could be alternatives:

CEIC: CEIC Data cover macro-economic, industrial and financial time-series data in three main categories of information that are Economic, Sector, and Corporate. It is a leading time-series database, focusing exclusively on the China market.

CSYD: China Statistical Yearbooks Database is a leading database of official data in China who collects all important statistical yearbooks published by Mainland China Press. It covers various kinds of census and survey data.

DRCnet Database for Education(CN): DRCnet Database for Education is a specialized version of DRCnet database for subscribers from colleges and universities, which collects and integrates overseas and domestic dynamics and findings of researches on economy, finance, industries, etc.
E-Discovery Week 2018
The annual event is designed for students to get a better understanding of library’s online resources and use them for gaining in-depth knowledge of a subject. A week of activities including searching competition, training workshops and interactive sessions will display the wealth of library’s e-resources in multi-dimensional perspective. Staff are suggested to encourage the students to join the event, especially those who are doing Final Year Projects or postgraduate studies.

Autumn Book Fair 2018
It is a great chance for staff and students to talk with the international publishers and national import and export vendors face to face, get valuable information of the latest global academic publications, and select books for the Library to add into its collection. Books recommended from Book Fair will be proceeded much faster than normal print book acquisition process.
