Follow Up on New Individual Income Tax
The year 2019 is the first year of implementation of New IIT, many of our staff have experienced/enjoyed the changes of the new tax policy including adding six Additional Deductions. As the new taxable year 2020 is coming, here are some updates for applying for six Additional Deductions for your information. Detailed instruction and procedure please refer to Follow up on 10 Dec. 2019 and Follow up on 16 Dec. 2019.

Winter English Course
We are pleased to announce the Winter Staff English course offered by XJTLU Human Resources and Language Centre, which will take place in February, 2020. The course will run for 8 days in total, 2 hours per day, the dates are:
Date: 5rd Feb. –14th Feb. 2020 (Except weekends)
Time: 12:00pm-14:00pm, each day.
The course has been designed for you to develop your English skills in appropriate, work-related contexts. Detailed information may refer to HR Announcement.
Registration has been closed on Friday, December 13, 2019. If you are interested, please contact TD.hr@xjtlu.edu.cn.
*The lessons are the same as the Staff English course, summer 2019. Therefore, people who took this course need not reapply.

New Appointment - Director of Centre for Information Affairs and Director of Centre for Student Affairs
Following appointments were announced for Centre for Information Affairs and Centre for Student Affairs, effective from 1st January, 2020:
- Dr. Xin Bi has been promoted to Director of Centre for Information Affairs
- Dr. Qijian Xie has been promoted to Director of Centre for Student Affairs
Both of them have been dedicated to XJTLU for more than 10 years, Dr. Xin Bi has rich working experience, insights and passion in leading and developing Library and Museum, UMC and MITS. Under his leadership, the support and those well designed events are highly recognized. Likewise, Dr. Qijian Xie has had a significant impact on the university development by launching a wide range of initiatives and has also fully devoted himself to the services and development of student affairs and student admissions.
During the past years, they have demonstrated an outstanding performance, competent management skills, collaborative working spirit and an extremely strong desire to generate positive results for XJTLU. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Xin Bi and Dr. Qijian Xie for their persistent commitment and dedicated work for XJTLU.
Please join us in in congratulating both Xin Bi and Qijian Xie on their well-deserved promotions! We all believe their leadership and energy will enable the two centers obtain new heights and achieve more for XJTLU in future.

Executive President's Christmas, New Year and Spring Festival Message
With the upcoming year, Professor Youmin Xi gave us a speech, "Grand Blueprint Drawn, Right Time for Brave Advancement". President Xi listed the achievements that we made in XJTLU version 1.0 and planning in XJTLU version 2.0, which inspired staff a lot.
Professor Youmin Xi gave everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
