Follow up on HR Seminar - Visa Policy and Legal System in China & On-Site Consultation of Chinese Permanent Residence (Green Card)
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you for joining us in the HR seminar of visa policy and legal system in China organized on 24th October 2019.
In this seminar, the police officers Mr. WANG and Mr. Weng from SIP Entry & Exit Bureau were invited to share the related policies to new expat staff. Mr. Weng shared the information of Exit and Entry Administration law of China, the content includes introduction the key points of the new law, case studies and tips for living in China. For detailed information, you may kindly refer to the Shared documents provided by the SIP Entry & Exit Bureau.
The on-site consultation of Chinese Permanent Residence (Green Card) on 28th Oct was conducted on 28th October as well.
Police officer, Mr. Jin, who is the only officer in charge of Chinese Permanent Residence application in Suzhou was invited as our speaker. Mr. Jin introduced the procedure and documents preparation of how to get Chinese Permanent Residence. For further information. Non-Full-Time Employee Process
From AY19-20, the non-fulltime staff of the university (trainee/part-time/others) has been outsourced by Xiangyao (3rd party) for legal compliance and flexibility of resource utilization. To apply for non-full time positions, please follow the procedures posted in Newsletter - September.
Follow up Note:
- The appointment form should be submitted at least 2 working days before contract start day
- Non-fulltime posts apply to Chinese/TW/HK/Macao residents
- Working time:

- Trainee, no more than 8H/day, 40H/week
- Part-time, no more than 4H/day, 24H/week
- Salary for trainee should be RMB 18.5/H
- Salary for non-fulltime staff will be subject to tax
- Continue to use previous attendance record procedure
- Attendance period: the first day to the last day of each month
- Attendance close day: the 3rd working day of each month
- Pay day: the 20th of each month

Campus Talk
XJTLU 2019 Campus talk was held in Soochow University, 23rd Oct. The event attracted hundreds of students and more than 140 students attended the job fair. During the event, Dr. Xin Bi gave a speech about XJTLU and Ms. Na PENG and Mr. Huaiyuan ZHANG shared their Alumni experience with participants. HR recruitment team brought intern program there which was developed to provide hands-on experience and cultivate meaningful skills for students to gain experience through on-job learning.
Moreover, HR expanded intern and potential talent pool by building relationships with School of Education, Soochow University. Also, an intern WeChat group has been setup for long-term hiring. In addition, HR recruitment official WeChat account is under preparation and will be available soon.

Tips for New Staff
Family Insurance For New Born Baby
Dear Colleagues,
If you would like to add your new born baby in the family insurance, please note the below:
Submission period
- After newborn baby’s 16 days, within 30 days (for AXA)
- After a month of Baby’s birth (for PICC)
Required document: Discharge summary (certify that the date baby discharge form hospital)
For AXA: Please provide your baby’s Passport, Birth certificate and Residence permit to On-site insurance servicer, meixinbroker@xjtlu.edu.cn, in One-stop Staff Service Center, so that the insurance company would make an insurance card for your baby as soon as possible. Otherwise, you cannot enjoy direct billing until you get the insurance card.

Follow up on HR Training - Think on Your Feet
Think on Your Feet has been successfully conducted on 30 October 2019 with 30 staff from varies departments successfully registered. All participants have actively participant and involved in the whole day's training.
Over 90% of communication is informal. The ability to analyse, organise and present your ideas fast is now a core skill. Think on Your Feet is the workshop that addresses these informal situations, providing the skills you need to present, defend, and discuss a position persuasively and fast.
This course introduces the “capsules-of-persuasion” concept – 10 plans that structure your ideas quickly, for impact and persuasion. The training provided staff with the skills to answer questions on the spot, to explain complex ideas clearly, and to structure communications in a professional manner.
Staff have all had varies knowledge learning and multiple rounds of practice from this course. Staff are certified with this course with more than two third of the class participation.

Follow up on First Aid Training
In order to improve the public awareness of first-aid, aligning with Health and Safety Office, the first-aid training of this academic year was arranged as public lecture on 30th October, 2019. The main content including but not limited to:
- Basic principles of first aid
- Legal responsibility of first aider
- Hazards identification and treatment
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Trauma treatment (Hemostasis and Bandage)
- Common emergency treatment
Staff have made practice and learnt a great experience from this training under the instruction of University General Nurse, Yan Jin.
