XJTLU Leadership Workshop
Effective implementation of university's strategies and priorities is becoming critically important for the university's sustainable development during the course of XJTLU's grow-up and development. In order to support academic and administrative leaders' development of leadership skills and enhance their understanding of university's strategies and priorities, Prof. Xi invited all management members to the leadership workshop scheduled on 28th June.
In the workshop, speeches regarding exploration of new educational model-Syntegrative Education, internationalization strategy, research strategy and research-led learning were given respectively by Dr. Chee Seung Chin, Dr. Stuart Perrin, Dr. Eng Gee Lim and Dr. Xiaojun Zhang.

2017XJTLU Summer Daycare
Given a increasing number of staff who may have to leave their children unattended during working hours in summer holiday, and on the basis of previous practice, a summer daycare program organized by HR is offered to our staff members' children accordingly. This program is free for staff and supervised by experienced kindergarten teachers from XJTLU Affiliated School. It is open for children at the age of three through six and scheduled as follows:
Period: 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, 10th July to 18th August (6 weeks)
Venue: Room IA G29, South Campus (proposed)
In order to get well prepared for children, through the progress of pre-registration and formal registration, we have already collected the number of children who will be enrolled in the program. Now it is at the age to sign written registration forms by parents/guardians. A related notice has been sent to staff holding successful registration. Please all parents/guardians come over to Staff One-stop Service Centre to complete the last step of registration and confirm your authorization in written. Children will be covered by group accident insurance during the course mentioned above.
Then HR will coordinate Campus Management Office and XJTLU Affiliated School for further arrangement so as to present the satisfactory environment, both physically and psychologically, for children. Any related information will be updated and delivered to staff in advance by e-mail. So it is certainly suggested to keep an eye on related e-mail afterwards.
The timetable will be finalized and released soon. Please be kindly noted that lunch and nap beds are not provided, while snacks will be offered. In the meantime, personal toys and books are expected indeed to be shared with others.
Staff, if miss online formal registration, can also address your request to One-stop Staff Services Centre by staffonestop@xjtlu.edu.cn. Ms. Jingying Liu (extension 7714) will follow your request to proceed with manual registration. Registration in any form will be finally closed once campus date starts.
Hopefully, your children would spend a happy summer holiday in the program.

Allowance Settlement
1. VAT Invoice
To follow the notice sent by Finance Office:
According to the latest policy released by State Taxation Administration, Please note the new regulation of VAT (Value-added Tax) invoice (local) as below:
(1) For any request of issuing VAT invoice by XJTLU, the applicant is required to provide the correct name and VAT ID of the purchaser;
(2) For any VAT invoice issued to XJTLU, please ensure the correct name and VAT ID of XJTLU are included on the invoice. Otherwise the invoice will be rejected by Finance Office.
We would like to remind you of the invoice content for housing allowance claim. Either your name with passport number or university name as invoice title is acceptable. If you put your name and passport number on the invoice, there is no change that you need to pay attention to. However, if you request your apartment/landlord to include the university name onto the invoice, please ensure all required information of the university on the invoice to be correct as required by Finance Office.
If you are confused on the invoice, it is suggested to inquiry Finance Office firstly.
2. Allowance Submission Cut-off Day
It has been seen recently that some staff still missed the deadline of each month to submit allowance request online. Please be kindly reminded again that the cut-off day to submit allowance request online is by 20th. From the 21st to the end of month, the system is closed for data processing and calculation, and will reopen on 1st next Month. Please make your claim timely.
3. Allowance Submission Procedure.

PSHRM System Attendance Module
PSHRM System Attendance Module are online for more than one moth, of which functions assist staff in attendance management. In light of queries frequently raised by staff, the operation procedures are introduced hereby again for your reference. If you still meet any problems, Ms. Yue Zhu (Yue.Zhu@xjtlu.edu.cn) or Ms. Huiju Zheng (Huiju.Zheng@xjtlu.edu.cn) could be contacted for further professional assistance.
In the meantime, please be kindly noted and reminded that up to eight days of annual leave could be carried over to the next academic year based on the Staff Handbook. It is suggested to well arrange your holiday before new academic year starts.
Introduction of Canadian International School Kunshan
In response to staff' s ever-increasing request for schooling in International schools, we are herein introducing another one - Canadian International School Kunshan, in short CISK, for staff.
Founded in 2012, CISK is a licensed international school by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. CISK is recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an IB world school. We provide the IB Diploma Program for students in Grade 11 and Grade 12. For students from Nursery to Grade 10, CISK offers the complete Ontario curriculum in addition to Mandarin classes and after school programming in order to equip students with the tools to succeed, both educationally, emotionally and socially. By providing a comprehensive international curriculum to the local community, CISK is committed to all students in nurturing and supporting their academic achievement and encouraging them to be contributing members of our global community to achieve international mindedness.
CISK is about 30 kilometers away from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. It takes around 30 minutes to drive to CISK from XJTLU.
We, in the spirit of caring and benefiting staff, are seeking for potential cooperation with CISK. It is expected to sign cooperation agreement with CISK in the coming academic year. You will be preferred to individually contact CISK to know more specific benefits and discounts offered by CISK.
