AY2016-2017 Annual PDR & Promotion

Dear Colleagues,

It is the time to conduct the Professional Development and Review (PDR) for this academic year through a quite new platform - Employee Self Services (ESS) module of current Oracle/PeopleSoft HRM (PSHRM) System.

In view of PSHRM's first time to implement PDR this year, HR sent an announcement in details via UC in terms of schedule, system operation manual, as well as Q & A for staff's reference.

Allowance Settlement - Valid Invoice

Allowance claim by receipt/invoice is subject to valid invoice to make successful claim payment.

In consideration of unqualified invoice submitted recently, especially for travel, we are writing here again to remind you of requirements and specifications towards valid invoice.

Air tickets,

if ordered through Chinese airline or agency, the blue itinerary printed at the airport or the official/formal invoice, and the boarding pass;

if ordered through foreign airline or agency: E-ticket or itinerary with ticket price stated, and the boarding pass;

are required as supporting document for travel allowance claim.

Please do remember to prepare all mandatory documents for claim in order to comply with university finance policy and ensure successful and timely payment.

New Appointments in Administrative Service Centres

We are pleased to announce the following appoints:

Dr. Xin Bi, the current University Librarian, has been appointed as Deputy Director of the Centre for Information Affairs, effective from 15th March 2017.

Ms. Dan (Michelle) Ma, the current Personal Assistant, has been appointed as Planning Manager, effective from 9th March 2017.

We are glad to tell that our application for Post-doctoral Substation has been approved by National Post-doctoral Management Committee.

Through joint efforts made by Research Administration Office with Human Resources Office, a new post-doctoral substation in Suzhou Industrial Park is set in XJTLU.

In order to prevent bank card from unauthorized use and account information from leakage, please manage your card very carefully and do not disclose anything to others/strangers. If unluckily, once any abnormal or urgent matter related encounters, please call the bank promptly to follow its professional advices and report to local police with jurisdiction where necessary.

University Open Day

The Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Open Day, held last Saturday 25 March, attracted approximately 1,500 prospective students and their parents from across China.

Admissions consultations, exhibitions by departments and a campus tour, together with a series of lectures, were all part of the day.
