Prof. Xi’s Christmas, New Year and Spring Festival Message

Annual Christmas Reception 2016 was held on 14th December. At the beginning of the party, Prof. Xi, Executive President, sent holiday greetings to all staff and made a speech with the topic “Making ‘Research-led’ a Part of XJTLU's DNA”.

  • Prof. Jean Chen, Dean and Chair Professor of IBSS, was conferred the honor "International Educational Leading Talent" (Long-term) of Jinji Lake 200 Talents, 2016 (金鸡湖双百国际型学科领军人才).
  • Dr. Min Wen, Associate Professor of Department of Mathematics Sciences, was conferred the honor "Shortage Talents of Higher Education and Research Institution Suzhou, 2016 (苏州市高等院校、科研院所紧缺高层次人才).
  • Dr. Jimin Xiao, Lecturer of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, was conferred the honor "Shortage Talents of Higher Education and Research Institution Suzhou, 2016 (苏州市高等院校、科研院所紧缺高层次人才).

It is just less than few days away for New Year 2017. We hereby take this opportunity to welcome the year ahead with festivity and cheer and to spread our best wishes and regards to all of you. Meanwhile, please be kindly reminded that the University will be closed on 2nd January 2017 for New Year’s Day.

During the holiday, for colleagues who will travel outside of Suzhou, please pay attention to the followings:

  • If you are living in a rented apartment/room, please make sure your rent/room rate is paid off during the period of your leave;
  • As Chinese government has strict limit to overseas withdrawal amount, please prepare appropriate cash before you go outside;
  • Please be careful and keep your belongings safe.

Training Programme for University HR Managers in Jiangsu Held at XJTLU

A training programme for human resources managers at universities in Jiangsu Province was held at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.

More than 100 HR managers and staff from 53 universities attended the training, which was focused on promoting the internationalized development of academic staff in universities.

Attention to Invoice (Fapiao) Validity

We are writing to have your attention to invoice validity, which is crucial to your personal allowance claim as well as other expenses claim.

Abstract from Finance Service: All invoice (including both Chinese fapiaos and overseas invoices) shall be reimbursed within the year when they were issued. For invoices which are issued at the year end, the reimbursement date shall not be later than 31st March of the coming year.

For example, 2016 fapiaos and invoices have to be reimbursed before 31st March 2017. From 1st April 2017, only 2017 fapiaos and invoice can be reimbursed.

Please be suggested to make your claim arrangement accordingly so as to avoid unnecessary loss.
