03 Printed Books      Print Book Acquisition

The 1st round of print book acquisition for AY2022-23 has started. 25% book titles shall be collected by 30 November, 2022.         

For book purchasing schedule, please refer to Library Print Book Acquisition Schedule for AY2022-23.

The Library Pre-approval Plans for each department are provided as below, from where you could select desired titles.

The Order Feedback (September 2022) regarding the books ordered by the Library is updated. During the pandemic prevention and control period, the arrival time of imported books might be affected due to delays in international parcel delivery. For any urgent need, please contact your subject librarians.

Desk copy and student textbook distribution for Semester 1 in AY2022-2023

2022-23学年第一学期教师样书和学生教材发放服务

In order to protect the health and safety of staff and students, Textbook Service Center has been completely disinfected and sterilized. Also, COVID-19 nucleic acid tests have been performed on all the textbooks and all the results are negative.

To support teaching and learning in TC campus, Library TPD has delivered desk copies and student textbooks for TC modules to TC campus in early September before teaching starts in 2022-23 S1. Thus, Library TPD offers desk copy collection to staff in SIP and TC campus. Until 26th September, 261 staff have collected 585 desk copies. In accordance with University Arrangements, Library TPD conducted three sessions of centralized textbook distribution in SIP and TC campus in September. Students followed the precautionary health and safety measures to collect their textbooks. Until 26th September, 106087 textbooks have been distributed to 11441 students.

For students who are stuck outside or inside Chinese Mainland by COVID-19 pandemic, Library TPD offers international and domestic textbook posting service.

Official Launch Of XJTLU Library (TAICANG)

西交利物浦大学(太仓校区)图书馆正式开放

XJTLU Library (Taicang) is open for service from 12th September, 2022. The library at Taicang Campus is located in the Block D of the university, with around 6,500 square meters. It has 3 floors for users’ activities and 1 floor for compact shelves. It provides around 400 seats and 18 group study rooms to meet the varied student needs of learning space.

As a new campus library, XJTLU Library (Taicang) welcomes each patron to visit, discuss and study here. The library will provide the same services and facilities as the SIP campus, so that patrons can enjoy the user experience which is similar to the main campus. Meanwhile, the library at Taicang campus will still play the role as Research Support and Learning Centre in XJTLU, and make tight connection with SIP campus.

XJTLU Library (TAICANG) Successfully Held The Comment Board Activity

西交利物浦大学(太仓校区)图书馆意见栏活动成功举办

XJTLU Library (Taicang) held a comment board activity from 14th September to 25th September,2022. We received 93 comments in total. Based on these comments, Taicang campus library took actions accordingly to meet the needs of our patrons.

We appreciate all the comments, which have made great efforts to help us become a better library. At the initial stage, the new library might not be mature enough. However, with the improvement of the facilities and system, we do believe that XJTLU Library (Taicang) will be brilliant in the future.

In E-Discovery Week 2022, a whole week’s database booth show, an information retrieval competition, and database training workshops will be provided to help students get a better understanding of the library’s online resources and use them to gain in-depth knowledge of a subject.
