In January 2021, two training sessions, Performance Feedback and Coaching and Winter English Course, have been conducted as the final of this semester. There were about 70 participants attending the training sessions. Good comments and feedback have been received on the content and effectiveness of the training sessions.
Staff Training - Performance Feedback and Coaching was organized on 13th January 2021, which 20 participants from 14 different departments joined us in the training session. Through this training session, participants understood that the purpose of performance management is not only to score the performance of staff, but also to provide opportunities to nature and motivate them.
Performance communication is the last mile of performance management, which is also the stage where problems are likely to arise. Based on a solid theoretical foundation, this training session is designed to develop the performance communication and coaching skills needed in different situations.
Throughout the course, participants took their experience as examples in the role-playing, as well as discussed the goal setting and the priorities of employee’s daily work, so as to demonstrate the skills on improvement. They also have a heated discussion on the issue of dealing with challenging behaviors.
Staff Training – Winter English Course was scheduled from 18th January 2021 to 28th January 2021. This training program focus on a very practical topic, writing professional emails, which is a strong communication channel in the workplace. In order to improve the email writing skills, almost 50 participants from 13 different departments joined this training session.
Staff took one-week classroom learning, obtaining the sense and skills of how not to be misunderstood, how to write and deal with complaints, how to send good and bad news, how to be ‘polite but firm’, and how to aim for customer satisfaction, etc.
In the second week, participants took self-study and peer review for further self-learning and practice, applying what they have learned into practice.
For more information and training materials, please feel free to contact with HR office at TD.hr@xjtlu.edu.cn.
