Latest Notice about the Application and Arrangement of Taking COVID-19 Vaccines for Staff Members 

Align with the local government, the University Working Party for COVID-19 Prevention has released a notice on the Application and Arrangement of Taking COVID-19 Vaccines. Staff members who have COVID-19 vaccination needs can apply for and be scheduled for vaccination. For specific application procedures and arrangements information, please refer to the University Notice issued on 26th March.

We are excited to share with you the updated news regarding foreign nationals applying for an entry visa to come to China, annual reconciliation filing of comprehensive income and children of leading and high-level talents to attend overseas Chinese academy in Suzhou.

passport.pngTo ensure the University will continue to deliver quality performance in education, research and social service throughout this academic year, the University has been working closely with the authorities to facilitate the return of colleagues located outside Mainland China, including the issuing of invitation letters (PU) to support the (re)entry visa application. For the latest news about the invitation letters application channel, please refer to Return Arrangements of Staff Members Located Outside of Mainland China.

tax.png Following up the university communication announcement released on 14th December 2020, for staff who need to do annual reconciliation, please pay attention that the period for application is from 1st March 2021 to 30th June 2021. For more details please refer to the notices below.

In March 2021, Staff Training Calendar AY2020-2021 Semester 2 has been released smoothly with the expectation of XJTLU staff. The variety of staff training sessions have attracted more than 800 staff members to participate in the registration activity. Overwhelming responses and heated discussions have been received. 

As the beginning of staff training sessions in this semester, 3 staff training programmes have been launched in March, Staff Chinese Learning Programme, Staff Engagement Activities and two sessions about Staff Recruitment.

translation.pngStaff Chinese Language Learning Programme started on 15th March 2021, which attracted more than 20 participants from 8 different departments. This programme is inclusively designed for XJTLU foreign staff who are interested in Chinese language learning. There are three different levels, Beginner, Elementary, and Intermediate, of the course provided to staff in each week.

The Pronunciation Workshop was conducted on 15th March, serving as a fundamental course of this programme. Participants could obtain the basic rules of Chinese pronunciation, as well as the different tones. General courses started on 22nd March were exclusively designed according to the pre-survey. Participants of different levels would be able to learn with different topics, such as survival Chinese for Beginner Level, daily schedule and life for Elementary Level, and business banquets for Intermediate Level.

color-palette.pngStaff Engagement Activities have launched on 15th March as scheduled. In order to enrich professional knowledge as well as different cultural heritage, cooperating with Art Centre, a variety of staff engagement activities were designed for XJTLU staff members, including Chorus, Mandarin Calligraphy, Classical Dance, Cha-Cha Dance, Oil Painting and Mandarin Painting. 

In these weekly activities, staff members could learn more about art culture after their daily work, and master certain artistic skills such as dancing, painting and calligraphy through putting themselves into practice.

search.png Recruiting and Interviewing Techniques was conducted on 26th March to enhance staff capability on interviewing skills and talent selecting, targeting XJTLU internal interview process specifically. Though this training session, participants could grasp skills of job analysis to clarify different qualifications and competence requirements for specific positions, acquire questioning skills in interview to select the most appropriate candidate and obtain the sense and skills of assessing the competence of candidates and predicting their future performance.

XJTLU Interview Approach Workshop, conducted on 31st March, was another internal training workshop on the topic of recruitment. This workshop was jointly designed and delivered by Prof. Stuart Perrin, Associate Principal, Taicang Campus, focus on University current interview process. It could help participants clarify their responsibility scopes, form the plans and build question banks for their interviews, so as to correct their interview behaviours and build a good employer branding ultimately.
