Print Book Acquisition
By 15 May 2021, faculty-librarian cooperative book acquisition project for AY2020-21 has been closed. However, you may continue to submit book requests to the Library for print book collection development in AY2021-22.
The Library Pre-approval Plans for each department are provided as below, from where you could select desired titles.
The Order Feedback (May-June 2021) regarding the books ordered by the Library is updated as below. During the pandemic prevention and control period, the arrival time of imported books might be affected due to delays in international parcel delivery. For any urgent need, please contact your subject librarians.

Library Highlights
Library as a Bridge: Tailored Communication Campaign Arrived at IBSS
In order to strengthen the communication with faculty and students and help them stay up-to-date on library resources and services, the librarians from XJTLU Library went to Business School to provide deeper services about library issues through the activity of "Library as a Bridge".
On 3 June, the librarians set up a booth at the entrance of the BS building of Business School, showed the related materials of library services for teachers and students, and provided an opportunity to have a face to face communication with librarians to answer the queries about the library. During the communication, the librarians answered all the questions about textbooks issues, digital resources and books borrowing, so as to ensure that the faculties and students could accurately know more about library, and provide assistance for their teaching and research in the future. XJTLU was successfully selected as one of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Information public service outlets
On 16 June, Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province released the "Notice on the Announcement of the List of Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Information Public Service Network Recognition in 2021". After declaration and recommendation, formal examination, expert evaluation, collective decision making and list announcement, etc., XJTLU was successfully selected as one of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Information public service outlets. Stress Busters: Helping Students Survive and Thrive During Exams
Exam Stress Busters are short, drop-in events to help ease stress associated with exams and enhance wellbeing. All stress buster activities are free and open to all students. This semester we offered two study break activities at the Library including “Lucky Tickets”, with which students could get a snack and take a break, and “Relaxation Room” located on the first floor of the library, where students were able to play various games. Other fun methods of stress management were also made available. We recommended interesting books to help students relax and also offered useful tips on how to cope with exam stress. Students were delighted with these initiatives during the exam weeks.
Reference Textbook Order Feedback
- The Library received 1,456 reference textbook requests for AY21/22-S1 through e-Bridge.
- 1,155 titles have existed in the Library collection, one copy of which will be shelved in Course Reserved Area (3F, the Library). You can easily search the reference textbooks of your modules in "Curriculum" of OPAC.
- 102 titles have been proceeded for ordering.
- 21 titles, which failed to be ordered due to temporarily out of stock, will be reordered by the Library.

Wanted Book List
Based on the book recommendations from academic departments, the Library produces a ‘wanted book list’ for items which failed to be purchased. Faculty could find your own ways to purchase the listed books for teaching and research needs. It shall follow the procedure in Library Policy on Staff Self-Purchase Reimbursement when purchasing a book from the wanted book list.
