Library Highlights
Library Event: Living Library Held Successfully
The 30th Living Library was successfully held on 23 November and the theme was Staying True to Yourself. XJTLU Library invited five "living books", namely Xiao CAO, Yuan SUN, Tingting YU, Peiyao LU, and Juncheng LIU, to share their personal stories with XJTLUsers. Their topics covered various areas such as global travelling, sports, broadcasting and hosting, volunteering and internship, etc.
Over one hundred students took part in the event. In Living Library, they listened to the true stories and life experiences. Inspired by the passion, sincerity, and courage in the stories, they were able to take the opportunity to challenge their own stereotypes and prejudices in a protected environment, finding out the diversity in life and work and learning to stay true to themselves.
Go Reading On The Moon And Sixpence Held Successfully
On 5 November, in Room 153 of the Library, the first session of GO READING in this semester was held by XJTLU Library and Reader Association. The book we read was The Moon and Sixpence by Maugham.
Xiaoxuan Sun, as the host of this meeting, first briefly introduced the novel and its author, and shared her understanding of the book. Group discussions were then carried out through the analysis of some famous paragraphs in the book, on the topics of "interpersonal relationship and social relationship", "how to choose between the moon and sixpence" and "love view and life pursuit", etc.
This event, with a high degree of participation and a lively atmosphere, was of literary appreciation, in-depth thinking and practical importance for all participants.
Open Access Week 2021 Challenge Successfully Held!
The Open Access Week 2021 Challenge has been successfully held. From 25 October to 7 November, more than 900 XJTLUers participated in the activity by completing the open access quiz. 20 Participants have been randomly selected to win a lucky prize!
