Print Book Acquisition

The first round of print book acquisition for AY2020-21 has started. 30% book titles shall be collected by 31 October, 2020.

For book purchasing schedule, please refer to Library Print Book Acquisition Schedule for AY2020-21.

The Library Pre-approval Plans for each department are provided as below, from where you could select desired titles.

The Order Feedback (July-August 2020) regarding the books ordered by the Library is updated as below. During the regular epidemic prevention and control period, the arrival time of imported books might be affected due to delays in international parcel delivery. For any urgent need, please contact your subject librarians.

Wanted Book List

Based on the book recommendations from academic departments, the Library produces a ‘wanted book list’ for items which failed to be purchased. Faculty could find your own  ways to purchase the listed books for teaching and research needs. It shall follow the procedure in XJTLU Library Faculty Purchase Reimbursement Policy when purchasing a book from the wanted book list.

AY2020/21 S1 Textbook Collection

In this academic year, students will follow the current textbook policy that all students MUST collect Mandatory textbook and pay for it. It will be much appreciated if staff member can add the textbook policy and practice information into your communication with students in the beginning of the semester, so that students would understand there is no information gap between school and library.

New Feature in OPAC for Reference Book searching

A New feature goes live in the Library Catalogue System this semester. The feature is called “Curriculum”, through which the Library users can easily search the reference books of their modules in the Library collection. “Curriculum” currently covers the reference books in Semester 1 of Academic Year 2020/21.

This series of sessions covers topics for supporting Final Year Project students, including conducting an effective search, evaluating search results, tips on referencing, and library academic services.

Library Resources and Services Induction for New Students (Webinar)

This induction is aimed at new undergraduate and postgraduate students who wish to learn basic information about Library resources and services.

AY20/21-S1 Reference Textbook Order Feedback

- The Library received 1,332 reference textbook requests through e-Bridge.

- 1,123 titles have existed in the Library collection, one copy of which will be shelved in Course Reserved Area (3F, the Library).

- 13 titles have been proceeded for ordering.

- 79 titles, which failed to be ordered due to temporarily out of stock, will be reordered by the Library.
