Print Book Acquisition

The first round of print book acquisition for AY2020-21 has started. 30% book titles shall be collected by 31 October, 2020.

The Library Pre-approval Plans for each department are provided as below, from where you could select desired titles.

The Order Feedback (August-September 2020) regarding the books ordered by the Library is updated as below. During the regular epidemic prevention and control period, the arrival time of imported books might be affected due to delays in international parcel delivery. For any urgent need, please contact your subject librarians.

AY20/21-S1 Reference Textbook Order Feedback

- The Library received 1,332 reference textbook requests through e-Bridge.

- 1,123 titles have existed in the Library collection, one copy of which will be shelved in Course Reserved Area (3F, the Library). You can easily search the reference textbooks of your modules in "Curriculum" of OPAC.

- 94 titles, which failed to be ordered due to temporarily out of stock, will be reordered by the Library.

During the regular epidemic prevention and control period, the arrival time of imported books might be affected due to delays in international parcel delivery.

Wanted Book List

Based on the book recommendations from academic departments, the Library produces a ‘wanted book list’ for items which failed to be purchased. Faculty could find your own  ways to purchase the listed books for teaching and research needs. It shall follow the procedure in XJTLU Library Faculty Purchase Reimbursement Policy when purchasing a book from the wanted book list.

Material ConneXion (New)

Material ConneXion is a database of innovative materials, containing polymers, glass, ceramics, carbon-based materials, cement-based materials, metals, natural materials, and natural material derivatives. It includes high-quality graphic representations, technical information, and manufacturer information. You can search by keyword, product name, manufacturer’s name, or Material ConneXion index number.

Gear Up for Scholarly Publication is a scholarly communication mini-symposium that aims to enhance the scientific and technical publishing experience for XJTLU graduate student, faculty and research staff. The event will invite publisher representatives from IEEE as well as active XJTLU researchers to share their experience about scholarly writing and publishing.

E-Discovery Week is designed for staff and students to get a better understanding of Library’s high-quality electronic resources and use them for gaining in-depth knowledge of a subject. The event engages you with various prize winning activities, including searching competitions, training workshops and interactive sessions to display the wealth of Library’s e-resources in a multi-dimensional perspective. Staff are suggested to encourage the students to join the event, especially those who are doing Final Year Projects or postgraduate studies.

Academic Book & Textbook Fair 2020

We take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the XJTLU Library Academic Book & Textbook Fair 2020.
