Print Book Acquisition
The last round of departmental book acquisition for AY2019-20 has started. 100% book titles shall be collected by 15 May, 2020.

The latest Library Pre-approval Plans for each department are provided as below, from where you could select desired titles.
The Order Feedback (March-April 2020) regarding the books ordered by the Library is attached as well. As most express companies suspend their delivery services during the novel coronavirus period, the process of library book acquisition has been affected and book arrivals might be delayed.

AY20/21-S1 Reference Textbook Order Feedback
- The Library received 1,332 reference textbook requests through e-Bridge.
- 1,007 titles have existed in the Library collection, one copy of which will be shelved in Course Reserved Area (3F, the Library).
- 95 titles have been proceeded for ordering.
- 79 titles, which failed to be ordered due to temporarily out of stock, will be reordered by the Library.

Wanted Book List
Based on the book recommendations from academic departments, the Library produces a ‘wanted book list’ for items which failed to be purchased. Faculty could find your own ways to purchase the listed books for teaching and research needs. It shall follow the procedure in XJTLU Library Faculty Purchase Reimbursement Policy when purchasing a book from the wanted book list.

Digital Resources Update
Bloomsbury Encyclopedia of Philosophers features critical biographies of individuals who have contributed to the history of intellectual thought. The platform now contains more than 8,000 entries, including 1,650 Dutch, French and German thinkers. From 2020 a third stage will extend this to thinkers from Asia, Latin American and Africa.

It has won a number of awards and accolades for its digital publishing and global reach. It is also widely recognised by many international universities and social organisations, including ivy league, Oxford, Cambridge, the world bank, the international monetary fund, etc.
Statista is a statistics portal integrating over 80,000 diverse topics of data and facts from over 18,000 sources onto one platform . It is categorised into over 21 market sectors and provides access to relevant and quantitative data on media, business, finance, politics, and a wide variety of other areas of interest or markets. Sources of information include market researchers, trade publications, scientific journals, and government databases.

Free E-books During COVID-19
Since some publishers are lifting restrictions on E-books for a limited time during the COVID-19 pandemic, XJTLU Library will add them to the Free E-books During COVID-19 Guide as they become available. The guide is an ongoing effort and will continue to grow as information become available from authoritative sources. We hope access to some of these resources, particularly when most XJTLUers are off-campus at this period, will assist in some of your research needs.
