The 1st round of departmental book acquisition for AY2019-2020 has started. 30% book titles shall be collected by Oct 31, 2019.

Wanted Book List

Based on the book recommendations from academic departments, the Library produces a ‘wanted book list’ for items which failed to be purchased. Faculty could find your own  ways to purchase the listed books for teaching and research needs. It shall follow the procedure in XJTLU Library Faculty Purchase Reimbursement Policy when purchasing a book from the wanted book list.

AY19/20-S1 Recommended Textbook Order Feedback

The Library received 1,393 recommended textbook requests through e-Bridge. You can check the details for your own modules in the document below. Upon the arrival in the Library, one copy of the books will be shelved in Course Reserved Area (3F, the Library), to allow more students to have access to them.

Empower Your Research with Web of Science

This session will introduce how to find research fronts, grasp trends of research topics, select appropriate journals to publish research outputs with Web of Science, as well as managing documents with EndNote.

Digital Resources Update

It reveals emerging science trends as well as influential individuals, institutions, papers, journals and countries in your field of research.

It is a citation-based evaluation tool for academic and government administrators to analyse institutional productivity and benchmark output against peers and aspirational peers in a national or international context.

It is the world’s first peer reviewed scientific video journal, covering JoVE Biology, JoVE Science Education (General Lab Techniques, Basic Methods, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry).

It is focused on developing software for publishing, and on assisting and creating top-level scientific-research publications, covering mathematics and other selected fields.

World Scientific publishes journals in various fields, including Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Social Sciences, etc.

Wiley Online Journals (Updated)

Upgraded from previous Wiley Online Journals, with contents of Social Sciences and Humanities covered.

E-Discovery Week 2019

The annual event is designed for students to get a better understanding of library’s online resources and use them for gaining in-depth knowledge of a subject. A week of activities including searching competition, training workshops and interactive sessions will display the wealth of library’s e-resources in a multi-dimensional perspective. Staff are suggested to encourage the students to join the event, especially those who are doing Final Year Projects or postgraduate studies.

XJTLU Library will organise a series of activities in regards to scholarly communication for both staff and students. Various sessions will be provided during this Scholarly Communication Week 2019, including Scholarly Communication display, Scholarly Publishing seminars, Research Impact discussion, Open Access workshop, Open Access documentary screening and promotion of XJTLU Research Repository.

Academic Book & Textbook Fair 2019

We take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the XJTLU Library Academic Book & Textbook Fair 2019.

In Academic Book Fair 2019, it is highly appreciated for any recommendations which would help us on optimising the library collections, so that the Library could support the University learning, teaching, and researching better in future.
