HIGHLIGHTS IN APRIL

As you all know, Covid-19 has spread again since March and in April, Shanghai is facing serious challenges, which has also affected our staff members living in Shanghai, who have been stuck into a state of lockdown.

With the swift instructions of our senior management team, working hard to support XJTLU staff is what our University has done over the past locked-down weeks in Shanghai. Although the delivery of supplies in Shanghai is currently difficult, we are striving to deliver all support we can offer to our colleagues and their family members. After careful investigation and communication, we have built up an understanding of the most urgent needs of our colleagues, and provided the quick response.

Firstly, Building Bridges For Effective Communications The department coordinators have been set up as the first point of contact for emergencies, providing support to all staff members who need help.

Secondly, Providing Help On Food Delivery We have partnered with vendors who can deliver quality food to all our colleagues and their family members living in Shanghai (including full-time staff and part-time staff) and are trying our best to secure food package delivery on regular basis. Colleagues can test the service of our vendors and let their department coordinators know whether the quality of the food and service are satisfactory. So far, staff who confirmed food need have already received a food package.

Thirdly, Paying Attention To Mental Health We also take care of the mental health of our staff members during this special period. For staff who may need any counselling support, we have Staff Welfare Officer Shirley (Shirley.Smyth@xjtlu.edu.cn) who is always willing to provide professional help to our colleagues. Please don’t hesitate to contact Shirley when you are in need.

The University is committed to providing help and support to all staff members. Regardless of where you are now, please take good care of yourself and your family, so that you will get through this safe and sound. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on campus soon!
