EXPERT VALIDATION MEETING OF "PATENT RESEARCH REPORT ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE INDUSTRY IN SUZHOU" SUCCESSFULLY HELD
On July 1, 2022, the expert validation meeting of the project "Patent Research Report on Artificial Intelligence Industry in Suzhou" was held in the library of XJTLU. The project was mainly undertaken by the Intellectual Property Information Service Center (IPISC) of XJTLU Library.
The expert group of the demonstration meeting is composed of artificial intelligence enterprise executives and experts in the field of intellectual property. Dr. Xin Bi, Director of Centre for Knowledge and Information, Centre for Knowledge and Information; Ms. Liping Yang, Deputy University Librarian, and members of the IPISC attended the meeting.
The expert group fully affirmed IPISC's efforts and achievements in the "Patent Research Report" project, and gave guidance for future research directions.

LIBRARY NOTICE FOR OPENING HOURS ADJUSTMENT DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAY
According to the Latest Notice on Pandemic Control Updates, in order to balance the energy saving of Library space facilities and users’ needs for learning and research during the summer holiday, the Library opening hours during this period will be adjusted. Click HERE for more details.
From the 27th August,2022, all library working hours, spaces and facilities usage will return to normal. (Monday to Friday: 8:00 to 22:00; Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 to 22:00).

MITS SUCCESSFULLY SUPPORTED THE 2022 COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION EXAM FOR ADMISSION
XJTLU 2022 Comprehensive Evaluation Exam for Admission was held online from June 11 to June 13. MITS has prepared the testing rooms a week in advance to ensure the test could go smoothly and steadily. There were 27 testing rooms on the North Campus and 38 on the South Campus. 12 MITS staff helped set up these rooms, and each testing room was equipped with two sets of desktop computers, a webcam, sound input/output devices, and test recording cameras. MITS engineers worked closely with the admission office colleagues and stood by during the entire exam, adjusting the equipment, fixing emergency technical issues, and providing video logs to help identify problems during the exam.
MITS SUCCESSFULLY SUPPORTED 2022 GRADUATION CEREMONY
The first round of XJTLU 2022 Graduation Ceremony was held on June 23, 2022. MITS has worked closely with ASO and provided IT hardware installation and testing services. The event was held at HS building hall and CB G13W, and required IT hardware, including but not limited to 15 desktops, five laptops, three printers, seven receipt/ticket printers, 7 IC card readers, and network cables. MITS meeting and event support specialists also controlled stage lighting and audio system during the ceremony and the live streaming-related equipment. With the excellent collaboration of all staff, the ceremony ended successfully, and MITS will continue to support the rest rounds of the ceremony in July.
MITS NEW STAFF INDUCTION
On 15th June, MITS department held the New Staff Induction. This induction themes to provide guidance on the future direction of study and research while clarifying the content of the staff’s work. For department optimizing purpose, Xudong describes the new scope of responsibilities that will be activated in the new semester. The new structure will improve efficiency and optimize business processes. It gives new staff a clearer understanding of the work they are responsible for. And the new annual core projects indicate the future work content for everyone. At the same time, it incorporates the research and discussion on the future prospects of the technology industry.

TEDxXJTLU was approved by the TED official headquarters on March 7, 2019, initiated by XJTLU museum staff, independent non-profit volunteer organisation operated by teachers and students, a very energetic incubator for ideas, creativity and innovation. We commit to spreading good ideas and trying to put them into action, and let more creative ideas of XJTLUers heard by the world.
The theme for TEDxXJTLU Annual Conference 2022 is “DING”. We will invite speakers from different fields to share with us how they have opened their arms and embraced "uncertainty" with courage in this increasingly complex world. SPECIAL FUND PROGRAMME IN JIANGSU PROVINCE
"Ying Cai Ming Jiang" Industrial Talent Training Project that will hold by Learning Mall was selected as the special fund programme for industrial and information industry transformation and upgrading in Jiangsu province in 2022, which was organized by the provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and Department of Finance of Jiangsu Province.
"Ying Cai Ming Jiang" is listed in the "industrial upgrading platform construction - industrial talent training" section, and its courses will cover intelligent transformation and digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises, innovation and development of the automobile industry, and improvement of enterprise management capability.
Through the support of this special fund project, "Ying Cai Ming Jiang" will better strengthen talent support and accelerate the implementation of digital excellence talent training in the manufacturing industry.

EXHIBITIONS CREATE A NEW EXPERIENCE USING DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Recently, Learning Mall worked with the Department of Architecture and built a virtual exhibition on "Matterport" platform. The exhibition, “Living space and landscape”, showcases the students’ best works from the module ARC 205, showing their contemporary strategies for better living.
Kenneth Simmons is an Educational Technologist of Learning Mall and the builder of this exhibition. He believed that there is greater efficacy for the use of XR at times where travel and general human interactions have been curtailed. Also, he thought the flexibility that Learning Mall affords to his team being able to the exploration of tools and different aspects of technology has been a significant help, which led to the success of the virtual exhibition.

LEARNING MALL PANEL DISCUSSION ON EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY
On June 2nd, Learning Mall held a panel discussion in terms of education technology. Six speakers discussed how to use technology to reform learning and teaching in the digital age, by sharing their own experience and practices in education and teaching, combined with reflections on aspects such as teaching innovation and pedagogical research.
In the panel discussion, Dr. Bi Xin, Director of Learning Mall and the University’s Centre for Knowledge and Information, previewed the new landing page that will be launched on July 6th at Learning Mall.
The panel discussion was held as one of the significant events of the first XJTLU Annual Transforming Education Conference 2022 from June 1st to 2nd.
