Centre for Knowledge and Information, shorted as CKI, is the combination of Library, Management Information Technology and System Office (MITS), Museum, University Marketing and Communications (UMC), and Centre for Educational Technology (CET).

XJTLU STAFF PORTRAIT PHOTO SESSION (JULY 2021)
Staff portrait photo shooting is a regular photo session supported by UMC, it will usually take place on the second and last Friday of each month.

In May, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University was mentioned in media reports from outlets including Guangming Daily, People’s Daily, China Youth Daily, China Daily, Xinhua Daily, Yangtse Evening Post, Modern Express, Suzhou Daily and Suzhou City Post.
Topics included a series of events associated with XJTLU’s 15th anniversary, XJTLU Open Day, XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), XJTLU Learning Mall, XJTLU in the community, and external communication.

NEW VERSION OF BIGBLUEBUTTON
The BigBlueButton on LMO is updated to a new version recently. Much more user-friendly and powerful new functions include but not limited to:
- You can easily select and switch between presentation slides on the same page without leaving the presentation and chat area;
- Teachers who are using Windows will be able to share system audio when they are sharing the screen;
- The “Raise hand” button is more obvious with which students can click and ask questions;

LEARNING MALL USERS SURVEY
CET conducted its 1st Learning Mall Users Survey in late June. An incredible 2,534 responses are received from various XJTLU communities.
Data will be generated from these responses providing substantial insights into how Learning Mall is used, the role it plays in learning and teaching, and how it can be improved. The recipients of Survey completion incentives will be notified by e-mail regarding incentive availability and collection.
After a short period of analysis, CET anticipates sharing the results of the Survey with the XJTLU community.

LIBRARY AS A BRIDGE: TAILORED COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN ARRIVED AT IBSS
In order to strengthen the communication with faculty and students and help them stay up-to-date on Library resources and services, the librarians went to Business School to provide deeper services about Library issues through the activity of "Library as a Bridge" on 3 June. Read more.
XJTLU WAS SUCCESSFULLY SELECTED AS ONE OF THE JIANGSU PROVINCIAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY INFORMATION PUBLIC SERVICE OUTLETS
On 16 June, Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province released the "Notice on the Announcement of the List of Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Information Public Service Network Recognition in 2021". XJTLU was successfully selected as one of the Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Information public service outlets. Read more.
STRESS BUSTERS: HELPING STUDENTS SURVIVE AND THRIVE DURING EXAMS
Exam Stress Busters are short, drop-in events to help ease stress associated with exams and enhance wellbeing. All stress buster activities are free and open to all students.
This semester we offered two study break activities at the Library including “Lucky Tickets”, with which students could get a snack and take a break, and “Relaxation Room” located on the first floor of the Library, where students were able to play various games.
Other fun methods of stress management were also made available. We recommended interesting books to help students relax and also offered useful tips on how to cope with exam stress. Students were delighted with these initiatives during the exam weeks.

MITS RESEARCH SUPPORT WORKSHOP
To strengthen MITS’s role in research support, MITS held an IT Research Support Workshop in mid-April. Through this workshop, research support in several important areas were introduced, such as virtual server, server hosting, HPC and GPU, hardware support, software support, and LIMS. MITS received positive feedback from the faculty and PhD students in attendance. The session was supported by the MITS Training and Development Committee.

MITS MONTHLY INTERNAL TRAINING – HUAWEI CITIFICATION AND VLAN TECHNOLOGY
On 30 June, MITS department held the 19th monthly intenal training. The theme of the training was Huawei citification and VLAN technology. The lecturer Yuye explained Huawei citification routing and switching, examination content, matiral recommondation for staff who needed kinds of information. Then, Yuye gave a brief introduction about VLAN technology theory. At the end of the training, the participating staffs completed the online quiz created by Yuye and the internal trainer evaluation feedback. TEMPORARILY CLOSE OFF - CAMPUS ACCESS TO SOME APPLICATION SYSTEMS FROM 20 JUNE TO 10 JULY
Please be noted that XJTLU received a notice from [Jiangsu Provincial Education Network Information Office]: The Provincial Public Security Department will carry out a 20-day special inspection of the education system network security from 20 June to 10 July.
With reference to the best practices of domestic universities, it was decided to temporarily close off-campus access to some application systems which are not used frequently outside campus during the summer. Key systems will not be impacted.

Opening Ceremony of XJTLU Campus Culture Development Advisory and Promotion Committee with First Meeting was held at XJTLU on 9 June 2021.
